Same Blood

For joy I reach from this sorrow’s flood,

From the curse’s breach in my same blood,

For my same blood I cry out to He,

That spills His own and covers me.

These prayers did not start nor cease here,

But continue on past clouds that clear.

For my same blood I work and reap,

Or else I hold my manhood cheap.

Revoke the moon and stars their place,

If I could see my same blood’s face.

But in my blood I am not finding,

A drop of power for loosing, binding.

My flesh is groaning, teeth are grinding,

But breath’s Light ease me, never blinding.

One day I will see that Same Blood’s face,

That raises me from my stainéd place.

The cost for my same blood is not cheap,

But He does not have to sow to reap.

For my same blood the charge is clear,

To pray Same Blood cover same blood here.

Through all things, though blood spill from me,

I pray all things go from me to He.

Back into the breach for this Same Blood.

May joy dry up this sorrow’s flood.
