Not necessarily. It just proves the authenticity of the signed message.

The message content to sign should be given as a challenge to the person signing to prove ownership.

Blockchain is full of signed messages. You can pick any and try to claim that you own it.

But if they ask you to sign a challenge again you can't. Because you don't have the private key.
