The inclusion of the headline of the London Times in the first bitcoin block was activism in my view. But the act of creating bitcoin itself not really.
And if I base myself on the definition I find on Wikipedia “Activism (or Advocacy) consists of efforts to promote, impede, direct or intervene in social, political, economic or environmental reform with the desire to make changes in society toward a perceived greater good.”, then activism is exactly what you describe in your first paragraph: “asking or begging or pushing governments or companies to do something differently, to start doing X or stop doing Y”
So or Bitcoin activism is totally decoupled from the term activism itself or we have to call it differently. Something like building an alternative society from the ground up.
And maybe it’s just me, but you’re not doing yourself a favor by calling yourself a Bitcoin-activist in my view.
Just so you know: this comes from a place of love. I admire your work, keep doing what you do! 💪
