For me it's already 10x better than Twitter, particularly since my Twitter account is suspended, but still...
- I can read as many nostr posts as I want! No rate limits!
- I can even write posts of my own! And I can make them brief or as long as I like, not confined to a few hundred characters.
- Another great feature is the ability to include more than 4 images in a post, or more than one in a reply
- Direct messages are encrypted with Nostr. That's something that's not true or provable of Twitter
- I can send and receive Bitcoin via Nostr
- Quick reactions on Nostr allow for not only a simple like, but other emojis as well
- Community/achievement type associations via badges are kinda neat, but as yet not widely adopted
- With nostr, I can view posts without "logging in", and I can get a perspective on what another user sees based on their account
- Integrating with nose is much less annoying than working with the Twitter API. It's open access, no need to sign up for a dev key tied to an app or any other application info.
- Speaking of accounts, I didn't have to hand over an email address or phone number to use Nostr. Twitter on the other hand is asking for all kinds of stuff to exploit you
- with a variety of nostr clients, I don't have to use one that wants to know my exact location at all times like Twitter prefers
- with Nostr I can't be blocked from seeing what others post. And I can easily manage an account that is abusive so I don't see it. With Twitter, reporting mechanisms are several steps to actually make a report.
