Replying to Avatar Dissident Sound

this "Gnosis" stuff, immediately reminded me of "When a Champion Falls" by Animadrop.

and not in a good way LOL. they both have this quality of simultaneously being too serious while also not original enough.

objectively there is nothing wrong with them, but they just kind of lack authenticity that i like to see in music.

basically they start out with the goal of impressing the listener and this is wrong. you have to start out with something unique and then do enough to make sure it is "finished" but not "belabored" ...

basically it should sound natural and effortless and it doesn't. it sounds painstakingly orchestrated. in case of Animadrop he isn't even trying to hide it by showing how he composed it in the computer.

i will try to think of an example of this done better, but i can't think of one right now.

couldn't think of any examples of it done right but here is another example of it done wrong:

Seven Lions feat. So Below - Every Time (Official Music Video)

https://youtu.be/0u-wOk8kCVk?si=7V2SzKzsYA0061T-

it's like they missed the memo that life is a joke and made a music video more serious than life itself.

aside from that, it's good.
