I've adopted the words of my medicine family and when I sit in circle before we go into full darkness and walk or crawl like a jaguar to the altar for a cup of the medicine... my prayer and intentions that I share with when the talking stick lands into my hands, most often include a direct ask to the medicine to "please be powerful yet gentle" with me tonight.
