Cmon. We both know "centralized" is a spectrum. Nostr dev is pretty darn centralized rn. As is the relay network. Can we not just say the good things they are doing such as good UX, good onboarding, good infrastructure, good devX and try and improve nostr. Instead of pretending nostr can be better without putting in the work?

I know you are aware but I’ll say it anyway, Nostr is not a social media platform so Nostr isn’t competing with blue sky. Damus, Snort and the twitter clones are competing with blue sky.

Nostr is so much more than an X alternative.
The custom feeds are the best part. For a period of time, I thought Nostr DVMs could compete, but it seems that people have kinda moved on from that idea idk
As I understand it, this is due to X no longer blocking a user's posts from accounts that user has blocked. So, I guess this is something Bluesky does? Is obscuring nostr events from npubs that have been muted even feasible; let alone really desired?

They are insufferable. An entire community that just thrives on blocking other people. Don’t dare talk about bitcoin over there, or they’ll call you a Nazi and tell you to kill yourself.

It's easier for new users. So they are growing and retaining users. For example bluesky started off smaller than nostr. Today they got more users in 1 hour then nostr did in it's entire 4 years. They also have good infrastructure. Many more things can be learnt.

This is likely a large number of totalitarian leftists abandoning Twitter due to the changes in blocking behavior.

I don't think bluesky is a good heuristic to determine "the right thing to do" to nostr to gain users.
between X, Bluesky, and nostr; nostr is the only one where I have gained followers, and had productive and engaging conversations.
the quality here vastly outweighs the quantity of brain rot over there.
