Could be a little tooltip-style 💬 that you tap to see someone’s status.. slack style
don’t think i’ve used slack enough to know exactly what you’re talking about right now 🤔
If someone adds a status, it puts a little speech bubble next to their name. Then if you hover over it or click it, it shows the text status

Hover on computer, tap on mobile
clicking on a name takes you to your profile though 🤔
That used to be all chat apps we used before. Its not noisy, it’s different and more alive not just “sent”
it increases the amount of text displayed on a screen, diluting the existing content
i love the idea of it, i’m just trying to think of a design solution, that could take this to the next level 💜👏
Looks great tho! I think statuses should stay unlimited but collapse to one or two lines of text (hide the rest till you expand with click)

just a toggle button on or off in the status settings. on being you can see everyone’s status, off meaning you don’t see anyone’s status
