IDK who needs to hear this, but standard dress sizes are an mass-production convenience for the clothing industry, and in no way a reflection on how human bodies ‘ought’ to be shaped.

I can’t pretend I don’t have hang-ups about my body, but I am so fucking OVER spending a fortune on clothes that fail to reconcile my waist-to-hip ratio, then allowing the rag trade tell me it’s MY defect rather than THEIRS.

(Yes, this is the main reason why I got into #sewing/#dressmaking. That and the pockets.)

I'm trying to buy all my clothes second-hand now - which would be much easier if I could sew!

But really, buying from charity shops is fantastic, isn't it? - You reuse old clothes - and the money you pay goes to some good cause too. Everybody wins!
