I’m a bit more pessimistic. People seem content being sheep, and so they may never wake up, sad to say.

Maybe it's not even a conscious decision but rather missing capacity due to ever growing daily agony.
People just don’t stop, think, and question. People value comfort more than truth, and sacrifice the latter for the former.
