Preparing to get excommunicated from the FOSS Maxi Illuminati for this, but I just got a new company laptop with W11, liked the UX has a Plasma vibe, so flashed a USB with a W11 ISO, installed on a spare personal laptop.

Other than the installation process involving 100 million billion trillion "but are you sure you don't want us to spy on you tho?" messages and still requiring a workaround to make a local user without a Microsoft Account, it is smooth and I'm pleasantly surprised by how snappy it is on a couple years old midrange laptop.

I couldn't ever use it as a daily driver because lol Microsoft. And there's still some "telemetry" you can't disable fully without using a modded ISO and hoping a future update doesn't just put it back.

It also has ads on the start menu if you leave the default settings in place. And by default it has a keylogger on.

Can anyone recommend any (preferably FOSS) software that creates custom W11 ISOs to your own specifications (uninstall preloaded apps, add some of your own, your settings as default, etc etc...)

The ones I'm aware of are mostly proprietary and aimed at enterprise.

Win7 was the end of the road for me. Had been using and supporting #Linux for years anyway..🐧

Oh I'm still Linux all the way for my primary daily drivers.

That's what I like in the W11 UX, it feels very Plasma inspired.

I'm thinking I'll move to Qubes for GOD TIER OPSEC so my base OS is super locked down FOSS, then I can use different instances of various distros and other OS's as needed, of course they're all sandboxed.

That way if there's anything I fuck up on one distro or get my W11 system infected or whatever, I can just wipe em and the sandbox keeps everything else safe.
