never said anybody said that. but it does feel like if you’re not a bitcoiner or exclusively speak about bitcoin there’s really no place for you on nostr. i’m just pointing out how it feels for the numerous of people i onboarded who left instantly. we have to be able to discuss these things or risk being in a bubble of just bitcoiners. which is okay, but should be said.

Bitcoiners by and large didn’t even care about Nostr until December last year when Jack tweeted about it. People tried it and started talking about what they like, which happened to be bitcoin and Nostr and freedom, and engaged with devs and users who were already here. Some stayed and some left, including bitcoiners. Many bitcoiners from Twitter didn’t even bother trying nostr until the clients got easier to use. It’s gotten good enough, and Twitter has gotten bad enough, that a large number of bitcoiners have adopted Nostr. The next users to adopt it need a reason to want to use it, whether it’s from features they like or content/personalities here that they want to consume and engage with. None of that requires current users changing their behavior or altering their content in order for it to happen. Any content that is lacking on Nostr is simply a great opportunity for the first wave of users to start producing it. What will incentivize creators to bring their content here? That’s the heart of the issue, in my opinion.
