It still seems odd, though. Institutional investing 101 would seem to be that you don’t reveal your investment plan until after you execute it, to prevent driving up the price of the targeted asset. If they are instead reinforcing the public perception that they are bullet proof, that’s highly worrisome given the year we’ve had.
