The latest IPC report finds that 100% of Gaza’s 2.1 million people are facing crisis-level or worse food insecurity. One in five is projected to face catastrophic hunger or starvation between May and September 2025.
➤ 495,000 people (23%) will likely face famine conditions (IPC Phase 5).
➤ 1.1 million more are expected to reach IPC Phase 4 (emergency).
➤ 70,500 children under five already suffer acute malnutrition; many need urgent treatment to survive.
➤ 17,000 pregnant or breastfeeding women require emergency nutrition.
➤ The collapse is blamed on the total siege, commercial closures, and attacks on aid routes and civilians.
➤ Famine is “likely” if the siege and military operations continue, especially in northern Gaza.
➤ The temporary relief from the January–February pause was erased by the March offensive and border closures.
➤ UN agencies warn: Waiting for a formal famine declaration means people will already be dead.
Since March, all aid has been blocked. Food, water, and medicine are nearly gone. Communities are collapsing under extreme survival conditions.
Immediate action required:

• Full humanitarian access
• Restoration of essential services
• Urgent, life-saving aid
