No unnecessary stuff with remote control and SIM tracking and updates and all of this new fancy shit.

That sounds awful! Cars need to just work. If it's now on gas, we can at least prepare for it and quickly do something about it. How long does a software update usually take? I'm guessing more than 5 minutes.
