I get that each gen makes it's fuck ups that have enduring consequences but at a certain point it seems to foster a certain blindness that the current crop and the next and those following will somehow be free from those flaws or that their mistakes will be somehow more understandable or even forgivable by those that come after.

Often these same criticisms come from those same voices that bemoan a lack of unity amongst us.
