Still tries to present itself as a finished project while being at a 0.x version number, begging for security auditors, and having had a remote code execution vulnerability in a major release in the past.
Why is every dev a glowie? Why can't any dev make an experimental prototype communication app that actually calls itself what it is, and warns users not to take it seriously until it can have a solid chance at working for most people?
Wait, why did I ask that like I don't know the answer?
So many years have been spent sabotaging our electronic infrastructure, turning it all into such bullshit, even making sure all the major programming languages are bullshit - people who aren't into bullshit are very strongly and carefully blocked out.

Basically, relays should be in sync with one another. Running your own relay that syncs with many relays will miss many posts or won't be able to fetch posts
What if a relay doesn't want to sync with another relay? What if the other relay has 100,000 unfiltered spam notes, or worse, 5 notes that contain hate speech? Would your proposal require relay operators to download those unwanted notes?
