Most relays running and depend on cloud services like AWS and Cloudflare, offering zero censorship resistance. Just like Bitcoin nodes, few people will self-host and run their own relays. While Nostr promotes censorship resistance in social media, it lacks default privacy protections, making it ineffective-authorities can still track and identify anyone speaking against them. The only real advantage of Nostr is its flexibility as an open-source protocol. Everything else you mentioned is nonsense!

Amethyst has a built in option to route all traffic over Tor, and of course anything on a desktop would be trivial to do this with as well using something like Tails or Whonix. Running a relay is as trivial as installing an app on your phone.

And who doesn't run their own bitcoin node? Lightning I get, but bitcoin-core or knots are as simple as things get, and absolutely imperative unless you're a monetary exhibitionist.
