Reddit has ad revenues I believe and content creators use sponsorships to make a living. Nostr just cuts out the middleman.

I'm just talking about people talking on forums. There seems to be some delusion on Nostr that zaps are necessary to incentive people to express themselves. When we've done it for "free" basically forever. But really, the relationships we build are the value.
Yeah that's true. Peak internet was reading unhinged and uncensored youtube comments in the 2000s.
