Last minute cramming for an Italian test tomorrow.
I should breeze through but it’s so odd to me that I’ve had permanent residence (without an expiration date) for 8 years and have been in Italy for 13 but I still have to take a language test before I can apply for citizenship.
Also, classic Italy that it’ll take 2-3 months to get the results back. 🤡

1. Taken a test and waited 2-3 months for results
2. Gotten a second notarized apostille sealed background check from the FBI (got the first before knowing it would take so long to get results and they expire)
3. Sent in my application with several hundred euro and every piece of official paper about me in existence.
4. Waited another 1-2 years for processing.

Se non ti piacciono le leggi del Paese del quale stai chiedendo la cittadinanza sei libero di rimanere americano e, se del caso, anche di tornare in America.
Questo insieme ai tuoi figli minorenni, soggetti alla tua patria potestà, i quali sono americani e non (ancora) italiani, secondo la nostra legge. Legge che tu sei obbligato a rispettare, se vuoi vivere qui.
Secondo me, non è un requisito (e onestamente non mi sembra giusto), come cittadino o ospite, piacere o essere d’accordo con tutti le leggi.
Il nostro dovere è di sempre chiedere le domande difficili e non lasciare mai l’autorità di fare quello che vuole.
Naturalmente puoi non essere d'accordo con una legge e ne hai tutto il diritto, ma sei tenuto a rispettarla. In ogni caso da quanto scrivi è evidente come tu sia totalmente ignorante in campo giuridico e tu non sappia, in fondo, di cosa parli; la tua opinione sulle norme che regolano il conseguimento della cittadinanza in Italia o in altri paesi lascia decisamente il tempo che trova. E questo è il problema di mettersi a discutere con il primo signor nessuno che dice la sua su un social network, lo so.
Ma c'è di più: essere in disaccordo è un conto, chiamare paese di pagliacci 🤡 quello per il quale stai chiedendo la cittadinanza è un altro, e mi piacerebbe tanto che qualcuno che segue la tua pratica potesse leggere i tuoi post.
Ti ripeto, tornatene pure a casa tua se la tua opinione è questa, non ti obbliga nessuno a stare qui.
