Here's a bit of cognitive dissonance I'm struggling with, twice recently I've felt defensive toward Elon Musk and Peter Theil as people mock them for their autistic traits.

With regards to Theil, don't for a second think that I don't think he's a bad actor (and not in a Nicolas Cage sense). Surveillance death tech is vile and goes against my sense of morality. I hate it. Attack him for that. 100% valid, attack him for it in the strongest means you have available, it's unlikely you'll have access to the type of weapons he has anyway (or maybe you do... YOLO!).

Musk is a shit talking bellend... and the Cybertruck is rubbish imo, attack him for that but the mocking for autism... Fuck off.

The fetishism of autism is also a little odd and gaining popularity. Maybe the word people are looking for is meticulous when describing someone with exceptional ability to process data? Obviously people are free to say what they want but I don't have to agree with it either.

Like I say, cognitive dissonance a gwan. People are weird.
