Going to vent on knife and sword makers.
Why do knife makers put a bottle cap remover on survival knives?
'Fighting my way through a jungle, I see a case of bottled beer from 1912. So glad I had my survival knife with a built in bottle cap remover'
Who thought that drilling holes, cutting slots in a knife or sword blades was a good idea?
Hole(y) Toledo !
If the blade is too heavy for you to use, get some exercise.
A floating filet knife?
No one cleans fish while boating.
Drat. Dropped my filet knife in the sink of water. Good thing it floats.
Is batoning firewood in a survival situation a thing? Sawing the logs into neat equal lengths?
Do not ever use a knife to split firewood. Never.
A good way to damage the knife and so lose your most important tool in survival.
A knife is used to cut.
Burn the log from the end or middle. Don't waste calories sawing them. Choose the firewood and tender carefully so splitting it is not needed.

A couple from my collection.
Left - Cold Steel Bushman, original from the early 1990s. My first choice in survival knives.
Right - Gerber Mark 2. I bought this in the early1980s. Removed the pistol belt bail. Used to carry under the left arm.
