Actually, now that I've bothered to read the article, it seems like it was just a sloppy title:

"Damus, a decentralized social media app based on the Nostr protocol, is being removed from Apple's App Store due to its Bitcoin tipping service"

Not sure about the app store version but the testflight one doesn't have zaps anymore 😭

We had to remove the zaps on notes but you can still zap peoples’ profiles using the zap button there. Video and more info to come on all this!
