Only thing I can think of is that he was trying to find an offset center, but even that doesn't make sense because there are easier ways. No clue.
I think that’s close enough. I didn’t have a straight edge. Was looking for center of a square I measured. Didn’t know circle diameter. Had a compass lying around.
