Some people want to be free, some people want to be safe, some people want to be in control.

Ultimately, as the Stoics knew, we should accept and embrace the fact that we will never control most of what happens to us.

You can never be truly safe, you can only ‘feel’ safe. So refuse being controlled.

Nor can you ever be truly in control, you can only ‘feel’ in control. But if you relinquish control, you can truly be free.
