Oh yeah for sure they've got to. There's this depressing video of a heartbroken penguin going into solitude waddling twords the mountains (it's like penguin suicide), there's no way in hell there's not some real deep thoughts going on in that lil bird brain.
Oh yessssss I remember this 😭🥺 Mallory showed me this once. I think when it’s mate died it wanted to kill itself 😭 penguins mate for life I hear 🥹🫂 - except that one penguin who had another man in her cave 👀 dunno what was going on there 🙈

Dunno but did you know that dolphins and parrots both give their family members consistent names that they call and answer to?

They’re amazing. Saw a video recently where trainers asked dolphins “do an old trick” versus “make up a new trick” and they nailed it - knowing which tricks they’d done before.
Then they were told “do a trick together that’s new to you both” and the two dolphins go underwater, talk about what to do, and then do it 🤯
