“In a series of lab analyses commissioned between 2020 and 2022 by the consumer watchdog site Mamavation and Environmental Health News, 48% of sanitary pads, incontinence pads, and panty liners tested were found to contain PFAS, as were 22% of tampons and 65% of period underwear.”

I know they're not for everyone, but the silicone cups work well (I think silicone is non-toxic?) and I used cloth pads for years. Yes, you have to wash them and that takes some getting used to - but no nasty chemicals and - once you've bought them - they're nearly free.
i tried and it didn’t work for me :( i also can’t stand tampons.
might need to switch to cloth pads. good idea.
