To code you will learn younglings 🫡
Discussion
What about the gen still in college etc. They will be more so. But everyone is a baby Yoda on nostr learning stuff at their own pace. Everyone will use AI to learn, code, cut corners. Dunno if young gen will learn learn or get messed up or wont have to. No idea how that one plays out
out. For experienced tech ppl, they will just utilize it to speed things up as you probably know
My son is 13 years young and into tech, he is learning how to code with the different tools python, java ect..all done online since there is no school in this country that can offer him the level he needs. It needs to be implemented into every single core subject at every school as it now has become a necessity such as Maths, English ect as it is the way of the future!
Fully agree! Great that your son is doing it himself. 💜
Thank you my gorgeous purple horse 🐴 love you buddy 🫂💜
13, nice. He has plenty time to learn then. Sucks yea in public schools they used to teach us typing 🤣 need more. But im US high schools, they did have AP level CS courses which I took once. It was free so, and it gave you college credits before college. Yall need that program at least
Well actually im not an expert. I went to high school on east coast of US in new England. Maybe not all US areas have had AP level offerings (lame term for advanced placement....hence college credits...not that advanced just you know how the naming goes)
2nd year of High School and they are teaching them block coding, he did this when he was 6 years old 🤦♀️
No challenges at all and unfortunately it’s just an older teacher biding his time before retirement and just ticking off the list of what to teach.
Mind you, this is at one of the most exclusive private schools around so I can only imagine that nothing is happening in the public system here! 😠
If he wants to go in to tech there’s little value in him being at school - nothing he’s gonna learn there will be of much use. Even the Unis in Aus are useless, I’ve been involved with mentoring students at that level and they’re being taught garbage which is totally disconnected from what is needed in the real world so they come out with these huge debts and can’t even perform basic jobs. They’re just there to be indoctrinated.
If he needs structured learning look into things like Saylor Academy https://learn.saylor.org
And Saifedean’s economics courses https://saifedean.com/courses
Even the courses from A Cloud Guru would be worth a look, at least they’re practical https://acloudguru.com
This might seem a bit advanced for 13 but I’m sure you could find a pathway to get him to this stuff (if he’s not there already) and at least it will be challenging, interesting, and give him REAL skills.
I sure wish I’d learned Austrian Economics in my teens. That’s one thing that would have really benefited me greatly but is nowhere to be found in standard curricula.
Nice. It's all about finding the right info online...since there is too much info, memory overload and tech stuff gets outdated quick.
Curated works, hero coming thru StackSats.io
Thank you 🙏 will certainly get him on here!
Unfortunately not much is available to the teens and they are the future of AI and coding!
I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread by chance 😆 I'll pass this on to my almost 16 yo to see if any of this resonates for him 😍
Thanks so much for sharing 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Wanna hear a joke? Soon AI will guide them through their journeys 😅
Have you tried https://bard.google.com/ yet? And ChatGPT. Has its flaws but maybe a good learning companion I dunno
Yeah there is a super cool youtube on how to use AI for learning. I got a heap of ideas trying it.
Also, I tried Bard, it's good for some things but subpar for others (it felt like a lazy ai haha) 😆
Neat people figuring stuff out. You're a good mom then pushing the tech into his veins for survival purposes🤙
Yeah, my 6yo is even more fortunate. He's been coding with scratch and enjoys it. He's way too smart. And he'll never visit institutional schools. I'm raising rebel geniuses 😆 🤣
🥳💯🤙
