lol, deleted the "target" and "node_modules" folders in my projects and my dev folder went from 70 GB to 4 GB

You should use nix if you like taking up a lot of disk space

That’s a rabbit hole I have yet to explore. Why does nix take up so much disk space?

You download all dependencies. Even if its already on your system. Because the dependencoes for nix are hashed to exact binaries.
