I think deepseek won't succeed as much as it is hyped on the internet because the west thinks anything built by the Chinese is malware. They'd just pay 10x more and use OpenAI.

Thats said, those on the various LLM sub-reddits have not just been impressed by DeepSeek, but many have weighed in saying it’s as good and far cheaper than OpenAI.
