Wait, is that the guy in charge of wordpress? I thought wordpress was a relatively neutral company that simply focused on giving people a place and way to make easy websites.

there is more nuance to the story, as there is with most stories, and a large swath of the population which only thinks in terms of shallow binaries.
Some expected Mullenweg to just sit there while they took his lifes work and replaced it using the same codebase. Then he went over the top with his response. Now everyone wants to weigh in with their shallow binary judgements of who is the gud wuns and who is da bad wuns. Its more messy and complicated than that.
