Nothing about economics there.

Yes and "too much" is a measure of degrees. Economics (something that effects everyone) is an integral part of a crypto asset. So, to say that these particular cypherpunks are too focused on one thing is not to say they shouldn't be focused at all on it. As well that they should focus on other important things like economics.

The analogy would be like "That football player is too focused on strength and cardio training and not enough on eating." Do you see how ALTHOUGH being focused on strength and cardio IS THE basis of football. Eating is very important to their success as well?

I think the analogy is incorrect. Asking Cypherpunks to care about economics, is like asking a Football player to care about economics.

Of course everyone should care about economics. It is also OK to have specialization.

Let the cypherpunks cypher and other people can care about economics. They will be poorer for it as individuals but their contributions will still benefit the whole of society.
