The knowledge of an evil person is for arguing with others; his wealth is for arrogance and his strength is to harass the week. It is quite contrary in a good person, in whom they are used for imparting knowledge to others, for charity (good deeds) and for protecting the weak.

विद्या विवादाय धनं मदाय

शक्तिः परेषां परिपीडनाय।

खलस्य साधोर्विपरीतमेतत्

ज्ञानाय दानाय च रक्षणाय॥

vidyā vivādāya dhana ṃ madāya

śakti ḥ pare ṣ ā ṃ paripī ḍ anāya ।

khalasya sādhor-viparītam-etat

jñānāya dānāya ca rak ṣ a ṇ āya ॥

खलस्य khalasya – For a bad person; विद्या vidyā – knowledge; विवादाय vivādāya – is for the sake of argument; धनम् dhanam – wealth; मदाय madāya – for arrogance; शक्तिः śakti ḥ – strength; परिपीडनाय pari-pī ḍ anāya – in order to cause pain; परेषाम् pare ṣ ām – for others. साधोः sādho ḥ – For a good person; विपरीतम् एतत् viparītam etat – this is quite contrary; ज्ञानाय jñānāya – (knowledge) is for wisdom; दानाय dānāya – (money) for donating to the needy; च रक्षणाय ca rak ṣ a ṇ āya – and (strength) is for protecting others.
