He is irrelevant but he was appointed by Trump. Usually you try to appoint someone with whom your vision is aligned.
IMHO there’s a hard line in the sand when it comes to defense and military with the Trump regime. I wouldn’t expect idealism or support of anything which would impede on Americuhhh is #1 (even if implementation doesn’t end that way)
Mike Pence was appointed in 2016 to shore up “the Christians” in light of the GOP nominee having been married three times, recently a pro choice Democrat, and whose every word is a lie. Basically, Trump was a walking violation of the Ten Commandments, so they needed a way to dupe “the Christians”. It’s all transactional with Trump.
