IMO those parameters are overly technical for most users. I wouldn't even expose them and let the gossip model "just work" automagically using sane defaults.
At most there can be a slider between "low brandwidth mode" to "high brandwidth" mode
You're probably right.
I still would want advanced settings for myself, even if buried deep somewhere.
