South Africa is already ahead of you on this. Have you seen Pick n Pay, a major retailer there that already accepts lightning #bitcoin ?

Interesting. I’d love to see something like this implemented across the US & other countries, thus, ushering global adoption at exponential speed!

We need major supermarket chains to step up & offer Lightning as a payment option in which the everyday normies will start to question & see something new as an alternative payment method. Just imagine that.

The bitcoiner who implemented lightning for Pick n Pay is true orangeblood. Takes a lot of effort and passion to carry it all the way.

I agree. After reading into the functionality, the team, and partnerships of CryptoConvert, I couldn’t help but feel a resemblance to BTCpayserver & Zaprite which is a good thing!

Considering there’s a a growing network of Pick n Pay locations in South Africa, that’s a BIG deal! Online retail will ALWAYS have the option of bitcoin/lightning payment services as Bitcoin works seamlessly as an internet native currency, but physical location retail spaces? That’s if the retail operators are willing to revamp their credit-based system & handle their finances via non-custodial means. Though I can see Mastercard/Visa jumping in and offering their services to handle the on-chain/off-chain payments with a fee.

Nonetheless.. adoption is gradually taking place & I’m feeling hopeful for the future.

Though more competition in the payment service space is much needed to offer variety so we don’t fall into the same issue with the Mastercard/Visa Network monopoly. We can agree on that, right?
