it's becoming a total mess, things are constantly breaking in obscure ways, the UX isn't minimalistic anymore, many more reasons

I’ve noticed the settings menu bloating over time. Things used to be easy to do there but now you gotta click a million things to find something - usually go right to search

Yes it’s certainly got busier. Possibly a result of trying to unify operation and feel across devices. Often find myself thinking, ok that’s available on the Mac but where is it on the iPad or iPhone or vice versa?

Search doesn't work for me for over a year, reindexed spotlight 10 times already, fml

This makes me INSANE! I remember watching Jobs at MacWorld demoing Spotlight - its never lived up to that demo. I used to at least use it as a app launcher and now it just never finds that damn app Arghh!

they dont have a ruthless simplicity advocate at the helm anymore

What are the alternatives? Attaining similar security and usability in Linux goes above my head.

I think linux desktop got to a very usable point. But defnitly is a harsh start for a mac person, where you are expected to read 0 wikis to get something going.

Exactly. For private use it would be fine for me, but for work I rely on software that’s unfortunately not supported on Linux.

Ideally, I would deeply understand how computers work and be able to run Linux confidently. It’s a trade-off I’m not willing to make yet.

Yes then it is to choose between Windows and Mac it seems. Hopefully they will support your needs.

If it not for their massive improvement in hardware, apple products would be unusable these days.
