Jesus didn’t trust the experts (ie the Pharisees, the Romans, the scribes).
Rather, he spoke with his own authority:
“And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.”

Jesus was crucified by the government. Yet people use him as justification for more government
