Yeah but the value of the sats will go up, so the people bidding for block space will also be thinking, "jeez, I could buy dinner for two at a really nice joint for 300 sats..." There will be a stronger incentive to not be wasteful. Whenever I look at mempool.space I'm aghast at these crazy fees people are paying. Crap, its gonna make that a link...

I’ve had that same theory but I still think nominally Sats/ vb will beat least 10x what it is today on average in 10 years but wouldn’t be surprised if it was 50x, despite Sat purchasing power appreciation.
On chain at that point will predominantly facilitate massive value transfer for the wealthiest entities on earth. Nation states, financial institutions, central banks, publicly traded corporations , billionaires and global banking institutions. They won’t care about bidding tx cost up and will always want priority for their transactions.
