That's a good way to say it sure.

So you fundamentally view America to be fascistic because we have representative democracy not direct democracy? I really don’t understand how this definition of the word provides more utility than other, more commonly held definitions. This is the Wikipedia definition for example:
Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/ FASH-iz-əm) is a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.
Our government is fucked 🤷🏽
Representative democracy is far from fascism.
But the left is literally just as close to fascism as the ultra right 🤷🏽
What people who are hyped up about one side or the other don't understand is that it's not a straight timeline🤷🏽
It's a horseshoe. The more to one side you go the more your views start to line up with the opposite side. And at points they even touch.
And the majority of people are left in the middle going "I guess I believe this slightly more than the other"
I'm done with that. We need a person for the middle. 🤷🏽
I don't care how much you stack Republicans in not voting for them. Your point is moot. I'm not voting for your side either🤷🏽
UNLESS you put up someone good.
So do it.
That's my challenge to both sides.
Put up a REAL person.
I’m not making you vote for anyone. I just have yet to see anyone demonstrate how the Democratic political platform in 2023 is fascistic, according to more widely held definitions.
I don't think I said that either? 🤔
What I said was Gavin Newsom is NOT the guy. I want to make people believe that. 🤷🏽
I would rather Newsom not be elected. But this whole: both sides are just as bad horse shoe theory stuff.. that’s what I’m addressing. I don’t think that the mainstream Democratic Party is very left leaning in 2023 compared to other countries left coalitions.
I perceive left values to be focused around democratic representation, worker protections, human rights protections, egalitarianism, etc etc.
Those are admirable things yes.
But they also mandate vaccine passports, keep people from jobs for saying their beliefs on the Internet arrest and kidnap their enemies...
But wait the Republicans do that too!
Yep me again why I should keep playing into the system🤷🏽
1. Vaccine certificates are nothing new and they’re often required for international flights. As a national platform, it doesn’t appear that the Democratic Party is interested in trying to create such a certificate. Covid is largely being ignored in domestic politics these days.
2. I don’t know if you are referring to “cancel culture?” I think there can be nuance here, but there is a market aspect to this as well. Companies shouldn’t have to associate with people who spread white supremacy, misogyny, xenophobia etc, as personal beliefs. It can create an unsafe workplace atmosphere when those kinds of people are placed next to other people who may belong to those same minority groups. Do I think this can get carried away and turn into puritanical nonsense? Yes, it very much can. I don’t think this is a democratic platform tho.
3. Kidnap their enemies? I don’t know what you mean by this. I don’t believe democrats have tried to kidnap people for disagreeing with them? I do realize the government has issues with unfair detainment, abuse of police power, police militarization, etc, if that’s what you mean. And I would agree that democrats havnt done enough in this regard, adding to the problem with things like the crime bill, which you pointed out.
Look into the Clinton foundation
I don’t think the Clinton’s have much political sway any more. If anything, they’re somewhat of a cancer on the Democratic Party, considering Bill Clinton’s associations with Epstein, and Hillary’s loss in 2016-
combined with her horrible personality.
Ok that doesn't negate that provably democrats don't kidnap torture and kill their enemies.🤷🏽
I would love to see evidence of this, I’m always open to having my mind changed.
That's why I said look into the Clinton foundation🤷🏽
Find sources you trust.
Because at this point in conversations the "that's q stuff" "that's conspiracy" is the next comment🤷🏽
So. Look into it.
I can be wrong. I don't deny that🤷🏽
