It's so ridiculous of them to think they can police even non-citizens of theirs in other countries. Why not just block Gab's domain, or ISPs in the country from connecting to them (like the Great Firewall of China or Iran does)? Or would that make their heavy-handed censorship too apparent?
I wonder if laws and demands like these will lead more users, and even companies like Gab, to Nostr, so they can't be made to comply with censorship requests? 🤔
In their arrogance and paranoia politicians fail to realize how destructive behaviour/a law like this is to society. It will cripple debate, cripple companies and just put a general break on the flow of society. And for what exactly?
I'm pretty sure energy will flow where it needs to and cannot be stopped by some flawed bureaucracy.
