What is the best alternative to knots?

I will probably end up running knots but in my mind the more diversity the better.

If everyone runs core, or knots, if everyone is running the same client, and someone happens to find a vulnerability in a new update, I know a lot of people wait to update, but it's about decentralisation, I don't like the idea of one team of Devs having that much power over the network, it doesn't matter if it's knots or core. (I'm Ignoring the whole spam argument I think that core are compromised from what I can tell)

I agree, the more options are better but right now we have only core and knots. I don't claim that knots is without issues, but since it gives me option to filter out spam, I prefer knots. I believe core is compromised & last attack on knot runners show that they don't act with good intentions.
