I switched from being an hourly contractor to being self employed and sending invoices, and there was a lot of headache and delay in the transition despite continuing work for the same client. But I could make it because my savings are in Bitcoin, and I could live on it for a while without breaking the bank, so to speak.
I chose Bitwage as an alternative to a business bank account because they can generate invoices and receive payments on my behalf. They handle all of the fiat banking and all I have to deal with is Bitcoin. As soon as my client sent the first bank transfer, Bitwage followed through very smoothly as advertised. The only delay being the bank transfer itself having to settle.
Back when I was getting direct deposits, I was very happy with Cash App's automatic Bitcoin conversion to get 100% of my paycheck in Bitcoin. I still just sell what I need through CA and calculate my own capital gains taxes.
