Discussion

This was discussed ad nauseum in February.

Inscriptions are an efficient way of storing permissionless censorship resistant data. Changing the standardness rules to try to prevent them will lead to an uptick in the much less efficient and more harmful Bitcoin Stamps riding the counterparty approach. Furthermore plenty of inscription projects have worked directly with miners which bypasses the standardness rules provided still in consensus. So adding such rules would be contrary and result in more centralization.
