The Midlife Regret

Meet Tom, at 55, Tom realizes he traded 35 years for a pension that barely covers bills. His body is broken, his dreams forgotten. He played the game, and the game ate him alive.

Lesson: The rat race doesn’t give you freedom, it gives you regret. #Bitcoin gives you a way out.

I am that Tom. Honestly. But I was also lucky to find out about Bitcoin very early.

I wouldn't say my experience is like everyone, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was common.

Nothing outside of myself and God provides me with any sence of security and putpose.

And what you say has truth. The rat race is fairly deadly. And the game is rigged for sure.

My own midlife crisis is more complicated than that picture. All the details are separate trade-offs on different continuums and in some ways things are about making the right choices. You will almost always hear people who are famous and rich, say something along the lines of, once you achieve that, you find out that it doesn't have meaning either. This is cold comfort to those who are fighting tooth and nail to the grave to take care of themselves and their families. But its true.

For me, I've learned that I must embrace where I am, who I am. not that I shouldn't move to change, but that this is all good, even the pain.

Bitcoin is probably the best choice for storing my wealth, but my wealth cannot be at the center of my being. A wise man (well, I believe he was much more than that) once said this.

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Anyway, I hope you don't mind the long response. Your post just struck a chord.
