Satoshi is someone well-known but hides it well.
Well, I still think it is/was Len Sassaman because he committed suicide in 2011 around the time of Satoshi's disappearance. I have my own unfounded conspiracy theories that I think explain some of this, but out of respect for him, I won't post crazy talk. RIP.

Yes. The need to know his identity is a symptom of our celebrity culture. Honestly, though it’s an interesting anecdote, IDGAF. What I do GAF about is the concept of #bitcoin and its incredible global community, of which my most favorite, dearest people are members.
