Fungal Network Fusion
Entire mycelial networks can and do fuse together forming much larger networks.
Applying Metcalfe's Law (the value of a network is proportional to the square of the number of connected users) the "value" of two, fully formed networks fusing together would have to approach something akin to Metcalfe's Law^nn (where nn is the number of networks).
We are witnessing, in real time, the fusion of a 16 year old Bitcoin network, a 7 year old Lightning Network, a 5 year old nostr network, and the beginnings of eCash.
I do not believe we fully appreciate what is happening here.
