Man, sorry to hear that.

In terms of your little one, it’s worth it. It’s not easy and often more painful because they have more questions than answers we’d like to speak out loud. But when my wife’s grandpa passed from pretty brutal cancer it helped contextualize it for her - both in the finality and in the, as we explained it, end of pain and suffering into a place without.

Unfortunately, we needed to have the talk, and it was indeed necessary, for him, but also helpful for us.

I told him that Onkel O. is now in Heaven, and he replied, «no it can't be, you just can't teleport to Heaven that quickly, it takes time, at least a couple of days!» (paraphrasing) — I smiled.
