Not standardardized way to do it, not easy to move channels (new device = new node) so it’s a lot more complex than moving between on-chain wallets

makes sense. are there any advantages or perks to using WoS for nostr/damus over muun, bluewallet, etc.?

It's simple, but it's custodial so you aren't exactly using bitcoin in a permissionless way. Though there is no self-custody way to do lightning addresses.
