I forgive fiatjaf and I'll have time to write entries again soon if the deep state doesn't get me first
But asciidoc sucks so my entries will still be markdown or wikitext

Ah, ok :) I think the way to go is to bootstrap it with Wikipedia in an automated fashion, to have a fallback for all the articles that are missing. But then again, in the age of AI people will use Encyclopedias less and less.
Decentralization can save wikis from AI. People will appreciate that the wiki can learn from their knowledge while the AI is too locked down.
You're definitely right that bootstrapping with wikipedia would be a good idea
The way to bootstrap is with Communities. They are usually super dedicated to specific subjects.
Bootstrapping with Wikipedia's lies doesn't exite anyone.
